 Jonathan Elgersma | Senior PastorPastor Jonathan

Pastor Jonathan grew up in Canada, graduated from Calvin College, and then from Western Theological Seminary.  He and his wife Kendra continually celebrate the gift of their children Kiley and Mark.  Jonathan is passionate about the Word, being a part of a transforming gospel community, exercise, and Mexican food.

 

Steve Rimes | Executive PastorPastor Steve

Pastor Steve is originally from California.  He graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego and has served in Youth Ministry and as a Senior Pastor for over 20 years and has been at Faith since 2008. Steve and his wife Sheila have four wonderful children, Ashley, Makayla, Kaitlyn and Riley.  Steve is passionate about marriage and family and equipping them for greater success.  He loves to ride his road bike, camp, spend time with his family and be outdoors.  He also loves Mexican food and the San Diego Chargers!

 

David Smits | Pastor of Calling and Senior Ministry

Pastor Dave has been in ministry for over 40 years. He has served in various staff positions at Faith and now is the Pastor to Senior Adults. He grew up in Iowa, attended Northwestern College then Hope College in Holland and graduated from Western Theological Seminary in 1964. He grew up in a Christian home and at the age of 13 made the decision to become a follower of Christ. He and his wife Jan have 3 married children and 5 grandchildren. His interests include photography, music, gardening, traveling, and investing in the 5 precious lives that call him “Papa.”

 

Matt Hanegraaff | Director of ClearWater Worship Matt

Matt is passionate about authentic and experiential worship, that is deeply rooted in the message of justice and compassion. Matt has been leading worship at various churches and venues for the last 12 years. He was called to Faith Reformed Church in September 2007 and is enjoying being part of a growing community. Matt mainly plays guitar and piano, but loves exploring new instruments. He is married to Dalena, and in their free time they enjoy hiking, camping, and being with family and friends. Click here to check out Matt's blog.
 

Danyelle Hop Roon | Director of Student MinistriesDanyelle

Danyelle grew up in Holland and is an alumnus of Holland Christian High School.  She graduated from Trinity Christian College, and has been working  at Faith since 2007 as the Director of Student Ministries.   She grew up in a christian family and as a sophomore in high school began to really understand what it meant to be a follower of Christ.  She currently lives in Zeeland with her husband Jeff, and dog Echo.  In her free time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, being outside, playing softball and basketball, and going to the beach.

 

Beth Hoeksema| Director of Kids Hope, USA   Beth

Beth and her husband, Bret were married in 1986 and joined Faith Reformed Church in 1993.  Beth spent many years volunteering in Faith’s children’s programs and eventually became the Interim Director of Sunday School and Children in Worship.  In February 2005 Beth became a member of our Staff as the Director of Kids Hope.  And from 2007-2010 assumed the role of Director of Children Ministries.  Beth and Bret have two wonderful daughters who are very active in sports.  Beth enjoys attending the girls’ sporting events, scrapbooking and spending time with family.

 

 

Brenda Isenga | Director of Children's Ministries
Most of Brenda's life has been spent in Zeeland. She started attending Faith in 1980. In 1984 she married Steve, who grew up at Faith. Steve and Brenda have three children; Josh, Tim, and Anna. She loves spending time with her family, camping, skiing, boating, and horses. As a young child she accepted Christ and has continued to experience the Lord’s leading in her life to be involved in church. She felt led several years ago to join Faith's staff and has been serving in children's ministry and assimilation. Brenda became the director of Faith's children's ministries in the summer of 2010.

 

Mary Van Der Meulen | Business AdministratorMary

Mary has been on staff in the Buisiness Office since 2004.  Her duties include finance, personnel, and facility management.  Mary enjoys spending time with her family, doting on her grandchildren, travel, golf and reading.  Mary and her husband Rick have two adult children and four grandchildren, and have attended Faith since 1994.

 

Diane Van Lopik| Administrative Assistant for Worship, Assimilation and Congregational CareDiane

Diane grew up in the Holland/Zeeland area and is a graduate of Holland Christian Schools and Reformed Bible College (now Kuyper College).  Diane and her husband Dale have attended Faith since 1993, and Diane has served in the choir and as church organist and pianist on various occasions.  She joined the staff in 2003 as the Administrative Assistant for Worship and Congregational Care.  Dale and Diane have two daughters, Stephanie and Allison, who keep them quite busy with their school and extra-curricular activities.  As a family they enjoy camping and sailing.  Diane also enjoys reading, volleyball, softball, and playing piano.

 

Melinda Werling | Administrative Assistant for Office and Spiritual FormationMelinda

Melinda has been on staff as the Administrative Assistant for Spiritual Formation since October  2005.    She and her husband Chuck have two outstanding children Jessica and Christopher.  She enjoys scrapbooking, card making, reading, spending time with her family and anything outdoors.   They have been attending Faith since February 2001.

 

Fred VanDyke | Organist

Fred grew up in Holland, graduated from Holland Christian, then received his BA in Business Administration from Hope College.  Fred and his family joined Faith Church in 2006 when Fred accepted the position as head organist.  Fred has 3 children: Steve, who attends WMU, and Samantha and Lindsay who attend Zeeland Public Schools.  As a family they enjoy vacationing in the Canadian Rockies. In his leisure time Fred enjoys yard work and reading.

 

Kerry Daab | Director of Living Water Worship

 Kerry retired after teaching vocal music for 37 years.  Thirty one of those years were at Holland High School.  His dad was a band director, but also directed the church choir and a barbershop quartet.  He is married to his college sweetheart, Diane, who is also a retired music educator.  Kerry and Diane have three grown children: Zac, Luke and Anna.  They like to travel, hike, camp, and spend time with their kids.
